The St. Aloysius Care Team (SACT) involves trained parishioners who minister to other parishioners who are ill, homebound, in nursing homes, hospital out patients, and families thereof. The main purpose of the Team is to offer spiritual support to those parishioners and keep them connected to the parish. Most of the SACT ministers are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who take the Eucharist to the sick and shut-ins of the parish weekly as needed. Many volunteers are needed. Interested parishioners must first complete the formation training required for all Ministers of Holy Communion and be assigned a mentor. Safe Environment and Background Checks required.
SACT is also involved in the making and distribution of the Prayer Blankets and Prayer Pockets (volunteers make these items and they are blessed by our priests) and monthly cards sent to homebound parishioners.
