Boys Scouts is available to boys who have completed the fifth grade, or who are 11 through 17 years old. Scouting places a series of challenges in front of a Scout in a manner that is fun and educational. There are three aims of Scouting: citizenship, growth in moral strength and character, and mental and physical development. One of the greatest needs of a young man is confidence and there are three kinds of confidence that young men need: in themselves, in peers, and in leaders. The program achieves the BSA’s objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness qualities among youth by focusing on a vigorous program of outdoor activities.
It is a boy-led troop, which mean the Scouts lead and set up their programs. We welcome eligible youth to come and visit a meeting or camping trip, as we are always accepting new members. We have Scouts who live in both Jefferson County and Oldham County, and areas that include Pewee Valley, Crestwood, Louisville, Middletown, Buckner, Anchorage, and Centerfield.
